The Instagram API reference still says 30 hashtags, while the Help Center says 5 per post. This page follows the Help Center because it describes what the app does today.
Up to 2,200 characters, as listed in the Instagram Platform API reference. Spaces, line breaks, hashtags and @mentions all count toward that total.
The Instagram Help Center now says you can use up to 5 hashtags on a post. The older API reference still lists 30, so this counter warns at 5.
An Instagram bio can be up to 150 characters, per the Instagram Help Center.
This counter counts each visible character, so one emoji counts as one. Some platforms count combined emoji (such as family or flag emoji) as more than one, so leave a little room when you are close to a limit.
